Having trouble viewing tiff files in Firefox.
I cannot see tiff files when I visit certain websites. Any suggestions? I have tried to download various tiff viewers, and that didn't solve my problem.

I think you already have the two plugins commonly used for viewing TIFF files, AlternaTIFF and QuickTime.
On the problem sites, do you have the option to download the images instead of viewing them in the browser? If there is a link, you can try right-clicking it and choosing Save Link As.
There are other things that need your attention.
Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.
- Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
- Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.
- (32 bit Windows) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
- (64 bit Windows) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\
You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:

Much appreciated for the help. I removed Quicktime from my computer, but do not know what version of AlternaTIFF to install. I have the most recent update for Firefox. Do I install 32 bit version, alternate 32 bit version, 64-bit x 64 version, or alternate 64 bit version for Chrome?
Again, thank you for your help.
You would want the first on the download page, the 32-bit version of AlternaTIFF, because Firefox is a 32-bit application and takes 32-bit plugins.
I think you already have it installed. Is it kicking in on any sites or is Firefox just ignoring it?
Do I need to re-start my computer after I removed those programs? I am having issues with Internet Explorer and with Firefox with viewing TIFF files.
I don't know. It may be a good idea, because sometimes the Windows installer gets a number of deferred changes queued and stops working normally until you shut down and start up again.
OK, I restarted, and tiff images are still not showing up. Any suggestions?
Maybe Firefox doesn't know it's a TIFF image? Could you check the Browser Console for any error messages that appear when loading the page that might be related to the image? Here's how:
Open the browser console using Ctrl+Shift+j (or the Developer menu). Click the Clear button at the top to remove existing clutter.
In the window where you have the problem page, reload the tab, or take whatever action should display the TIFF image.
Then switch back to the console and see whether you can find any errors related to the image.
Or if this is a page that doesn't require a logon, do you want to give a link to it?
Are those images send with a content type that the plugin supports?
You can check on the about:plugins page what MIME types a plugin supports.
You can use the Live Http Headers extension or possibly the built-in Inspector to check with what content type the server the TIFF files send.
