I updated from OSX leopard to snow leopard. When clicking on links to open new tabs or windows firefox seems to be activing a certain sound. The sound is exactly like the one used to indicate a snap shot of the screen has been taken. But as far as I can tell no picture is being taken, only that sound is being produced with every new tab or window generated by clicking on links. The sound is very annoying.

Hi ffxsf how would I be able to look at these plugins? I type about:config in the url search bar and search for plugins and the only thing that remotely resembles photo i is dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.i386 is this it or am I completely mistaken.

So I went on to the add-ons manager and found iPhotoPhotocast 7.0, disabling this add-on does not resolve the issue.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Disabling all ad-ons seems to get rid of the issue. After enabling the ad-ons one by one, the only one left to be enabled is iPhotoPhotocast 7.0. I believe this was causing the issue.
