Without my doing, maybe after an automatic update, Firefox does not show the startpage directly. It says not responding if you move the mouse and nothing else happens for about a half to one minut. Then it is working properly without delays. The delay only occurs when Firefox is started.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
