Thunderbird software update July 2024

more options

I updated Thunderbird with software update on Friday July 19, 2024. When I open Thunderbird I get a 'blank' page saying "No Messages". Then mail is delivered as was normally done. When I try to delete unwanted messages the program seems to be working but doesn't delete highlighted message and doesn't open on the next message moved to. Also when trying to send a new message it times out, and I get an error message about SMTP. This is only since the new update was installed.

Are you using Unified Folders mode? Where multiple accounts for Inbox are listed in "one folder".

No, I have only one account associated with the folders. I do believe the problem is due to Google moving from passwords to passkeys. With the software update, it means Google is now looking for a passkey. I did find a post on Mozilla Support that indicated the need to allow cookies for https://accounts.google.com either as an exception or to accept all cookies to allow OAuth2 to work. It does seem to make a difference. Thanks for your response.
