Copy a Thunderbird email file from desktop to inbox no longer works
From a 2nd PC I saved Tbird emails intending to copy them into my main PC Tbird inbox. Doing so used to work with no issues. Now it does not work. I have them on my desktop and I do a drag and drop. I have also tried copy and paste. Is there something else I can try?

PC #1 and #2 are both POP3 mail accounts. I think the problem is solved. The CTRL S used to save the email to the desktop of PC #2 before copying it to the thumb drive must be flawed. I tried it again with a different email and when I did the drag and drop to PC #1 it worked just fine. I am going to delete the copies and repeat the process from scratch and see what happens. Thanks.

I just sent a 2nd post with the same subject but with additional information. Basically: From PC #2 I did CTRL S to save emails to the desktop. I then copied these saved emails to a thumb drive. I then plugged the thumb drive into PC #1 desktop. It is these emails that will not be dragged to the inbox. An email received by PC #1 and copied to its desktop.WILL be dragged to the inbox.
Is the mail account on PC #1 an imap account ? So trying to put email .eml files into an imap mail account Inbox. Are you able to copy the emails on thumb drive to Pc#1 desktop and then drag and drop into Inbox? Are you able to drag and drop from thumb drive into a 'Local Folders' mail account folder?

I figured out the problem. When I did CTRL S it saved it as a SHORTCUT not as an .eml file.
