Hi
I understand that Firefox Sync did not connect to your mobile device on this occasion, but hopefully I should be able to help you force a Sync event to take place.
Assuming you have connected the same Sync account on both your mobile and desktop copies of Firefox:
In Firefox on your mobile device:
- Go into the Settings menu and select Firefox Account.
- Tap on Synchronise now.
This will “force” a synchronisation of the data that is on the local device storage.
That's what I'm doing! And it always fails!
Please can you supply the address of the page that displays the 500 error.

Hi
I have had a chat to our developers and have been advised that if you try this again, you should find it has now been fixed.
Now the mistake doesn't come out. However, the bookmarks, history, etc. of my Desktop Firefox do not appear in the Android Firefox.
Hi
I recomend doing the manual sync process on your desktop copy of Firefox then starting your mobile copy. This should force a copy of the synced data through your Android device.

That's how I do it. Although it seems to work, neither my bookmarks nor my history are transferred to Android's Firefox.
Do you still have your bookmarks on your other copy of Firefox?
Yes, my Desktop Firefox has never been modified.
Ok, I think I can help with this.
Assuming there is no data (bookmarks passwords etc) on the Android app (be very, very, 100% sure - there is no way to recover any lost data!):
- Uninstall Firefox for Android.
- On the desktop copy of Firefox, save a single bookmark.
- Install Firefox for Android on your mobile device.
- Sign into your Firefox Account using the same email address and password as you have on the desktop.
This will make sure that you are synccing across the data as if you were doing this for the first time.
Without modifying anything, it "magically" worked. However, it still doesn't work on Fennec, a Firefox-based browser that I also use on Android.
Hi
Just to clarify, are you using Firefox for Android or Firefox Preview?
In Android I use both Fennec and Firefox. In the computer, Firefox ESR.
Okay, thank you for letting us know. I am glad to hear that this has been resolved.
