I have TB 60 on a Mac with OS 10.9. Every morning when I wake the computer, Calendar automatically updates to show the day and date for the new day. I have TB 68 on another Mac with OS 10.15. Calendar never automatically updates to show the day and date for the new day. It's not a big deal, but, at my age, it's nice to have an accurate display because sometimes I do forget the day and/or date, and I have to remember to manually update the Calendar display. Thanks for any feedback.

As suggested in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288522 this is a known problem with the date still showing the previous day when computer wakes up and requires a restart of Thunderbird in order to fix it.

Hello there Howard m fried.

We have read your message . we try to help you.

Thunderbird updates by it self. Maybe it s time to refresh your version up to a new one but this time manually. There are bugs to be fixed and will be fixed in the newer versions of Thunderbird.

If you you don t want to upgrade to a newer version of Thunderbird ,wisely wait till its upgrade itself but I think you have to do the manually course.

Don’t worry also on age it s good to upgrade Thunderbird even if it’s manually.

I will show you how on the next help page below how to do it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/updating-thunderbird

If you having problems with it please don’t wait a moment and mail me back.

Thank you День сумо. However, you have mis-read my question; perhaps I did not make it clear. I upgraded to Thunderbird 68. Now, the Calendar does not function the way I would like it to function. As I wrote earlier, with TB 60, the Calendar always automatically displays the current day and date in the right-side panel. That behavior is what I want. However, with TB 68, the Calendar never automatically displays the current day/date. That behavior is not what I want.

Perhaps I am the only individual to notice the difference in Calendar function, but the difference is 100% reproducible.

Thank you.

Hello there Howard m Fried.

Yes I know that Howard. Try to update manually.

And I gave you a download for a higher version type from Thunderbird.

There is nothing now to fix that , it are the bugs to be fixed. In a newer version it will be. It s not going to show up anyhow. Not in version type 60.0.(it still is there don’t worry) And also not in version type 68.0. In every version type newer from Thunderbird Howard some bugs are solved.

I'd suggest you follow the instructions in the support article below - see section "Lightning disappears after a Thunderbird update" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/calendar-updates-issues-thunderbird#w_lightning-disappears-after-a-thunderbird-update-release-and-beta-versions

The title may not sound exactly like your problem, however, what it does is essentially re-installing the Lightning calendar add-on. Your calendar data is not affected by doing this.

Whether this will fix the problem I don't know, but it's worth giving it a shot.

Perhaps it's my imagination, but the auto-update is now functioning in TB 68.10.0. I didn't see anything pertinent in recent Release Notes, but, if it's not imagination, many thanks to the developers!
