Please see screen shot below.

Why four occurrences? No other apps are listed more than once. Is this OK?

Each occurrence, when I click on the associated "Manage" button appears to list the same file extensions.

The list does not appear to be editable.

If it is not OK, how to fix?

Thanks.

I have two of the new Firefox icon, but also two of the old icon related to a separate 32-bit install that I haven't updated. I don't know why there are multiples; it's definitely not helpful.

I think in order to figure out where that list comes from, someone would need to research on a Windows site and see whether it could be duplicate Registry keys or some other explanation, and how it might be possible to determine which icons are the "real" Firefox that you want to assign.

Thanks jscher2000. I agree that it may turn out to be multiple registry entries, but I don't do registry edits without character by character instructions. I just don't understand that stuff well enough to do trial and error changes.

Your multiple icons doesn't sound like the same issue. Icons that are shortcuts can be deleted without changing the basic installation of a program.
