How can I adjust the number of "TO" fields in the Write window? Tbird crashed (different issue) and after restarting it I now have NINE blank "TO" lines automatically displayed.

Never mind... just figured out that I could drag the upper border of the composition window up. I had tried dragging the bottom of the "TO" window up but that doesn't work... you can't make it smaller but you can make the lower composition window larger.

Mark it solved!

Ugh. Belay that "belay that" post.

I can change the size, but it defaults back to the max (nine) TO lines every time I write a message.

So, my question is now "how do I set the default number of TO lines?" or maybe "how do I preserve changes I make in the Write window configuration?".

more options

Close any currently open 'Write' windows.

  • 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab
  • click on 'Config Editor' button
  • In top search type: widget

Look for this line:

  • mail.compose.addresswidget.numRowsShownDefault
  • double click on the line to open a small window which allows you change the integer value.
  • To get eg: three 'To' fields, clear the number and type 3
  • click on OK
  • Close 'about:config' - top right X
  • click on 'OK'

Click on 'Write' to see effects.

Thanks!

The setting was already on three and I was getting nine. I set it to one and I got three ???  :-(  :-)

I'll take it!
