So i have looked up this question on the forum and the internet but i get different answers so i can't 100% decide which is correct.

I want to change my email address for my Firefox account (sync) but i do not want to lose any data like history, bookmarks, topsites pinned, etc. etc.

Is this possible?

Sorry about that "space filler" response you got from WestEnd.

The "routine" with Firefox Accounts is to add the 2nd email address while you still have access to your primary email address. If you don't have access to that primary email address, that complicates things.

Just the process of adding a 2nd email address and then changing over to that 2nd email as the "new primary" shouldn't result in losing your data from the Sync server. User data is only cleared when the Firefox Account password is changed; data which is on the Sync server is encrypted via the "original" password and can't be decrypted with a different password string.

Thank you for your reply. I already saw this article but this has nothing to do with my question.

My question is, do i lose any data when i add a secondary email, make it primary and remove the other email?

If the posted link isn't it then how did you search for the sync then.

No clue what you mean by that? In the posted link it explains HOW to add a second email address.

For the third time what i am asking is: WHEN i change the primary email, does my data (read, bookmarks, pinned top sites, history etc. etc.) get deleted or does it stay exactly the same but with the new email? If really not a hard question to understand.

When i searched for it i found the following: "I want to keep all of my bookmarks after I change my email address. " Chosen answer: "Not currently possible."

This was from a while back so hence my question, is this still the case or will all data mentioned above be saved while only the email changes.

Thank you. This clears things up well. On a side-note, I do still have access to the email. I am only going to use it much less. Basically i want to switch over everything to 1 email address.
