Why did Mozilla want to install a "keylogger test" when I tried to add on realplayer?
I recently tried to install Realplayer on FF48.0. When I went through find add-ons and came to: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/search/?q=realplayer&appver=48.0&platform=windows it wanted to install "Remote Keylogger Test 0". Now anything with 'keylogger' in it I am wary of. So, what's going on?

Whaaat? As a security-conscious user, would you really want to install an extension that
- has only preliminary approval
- has 0 reviews
- shows 273 users -- which may or may not be real
- was written by a user named ph1sh3rm4n
Unless that was my friend's add-on, I say NFW.
P.S. On the right side, under the blue button to Write a Review, is a Report Abuse link. I just did, but if you add your voice as well, that may speed things up.

Incidentally, RealPlayer is proprietary software that you would need to get directly from its publisher. http://www.real.com/
This is not the RealPlayer Plugin as it is just a Extension made by somebody that is under preliminarily review. It is not made by Mozilla as the vast majority of extensions being hosted at addons.mozilla.org are by a third-party author or company.

This is the Real Player Plugin.

I of course did not allow it. And I reported it as abuse. This type of thing must happen a lot I'm guessing.
Mozilla does not allow just any Extension to be approved. https://developer.mozilla.org/Add-ons/AMO/Policy/Reviews
A place to bring up extensions that are a concern like this one is at https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons as it is the Forum link on bottom of the https://addons.mozilla.org pages.

btw this "Real_player-addon" extension was added to blocklist on Aug 17 and is no longer on addons.mozilla.org
