Help PLEASE! I recently made the mistake of updating to the latest release. One of my inboxes shows unread email as (*2) and EVERY TIME I try to view the email the program crashes. Two questions: !. Can anyone tell me how to revert back to my previous version? 2. I am configuring a new computer also (not the problem listed above. Can I uninstall the new version and install an older version?

I've used TBird for years without this type of problem. The error report, I'm sure many have been received, is two pages long. I printed it in pdf but won't attach so I am pasting it below. Please help, I am almost ready to install outlook to manage my email even though I have been pleased with TBird for years. Thanks in advance. Bob

Hi, the crash details I can see are posted in my first message. I'm not sure where I would see a "Crash ID" if it's not in that detailed report. Of course, I can easily crash it again just by trying to use it. Where do I find a crash ID if you need it? ALSO AND MORE IMPORTANT FOR RIGHT NOW, IS THERE A WAY TO REVERT BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION THAT WORKED PERFECT? I couldn't find an update under programs in my control panel. I am using Windows 7 pro on my current and new computer. Thanks again. Bob

This is why I posted the link above.

Here is one of my crash ID's which I got though my start button search. I have many more but can't seem to highlight the whole list to paste all of them. Crash ID: bp-0ef3cc21-b81c-4ece-8c44-d34d32150613 Thanks Bob PS: Right now i'd really like to know how to go back to the previous version so I can get my work done!

Do your problems go away if you run Thunderbird in its Safe Mode?

Hello all and thanks for your help. I installed earlier versions of TBird but have a new problem. My calendar, events and tasks are gone. I always had the events and tasks on the right side of my display, now nothing. I don't know if I had lightning installed, maybe just the older calendar extension. The screen view I looked at in the lightning section of this site looked far more detailed and complex. I liked the simple calendar I previously had since it let me enter an event and then set an alert for minutes, days, custom etc. Can anyone tell me if that is an old calendar extension and how I can find it to reinstall? I am sure I have my calendar data and have backups but am really struggling to find a way to view my schedule which is very scary to me. Thanks for any help. Bob BTW: I went back to TBird version 31.7 thinking everything would revert to what I previously had before 38. Unfortunately, calendar, events and tasks are nowhere to be found!

Hello all: I'm pleased to say that I reinstalled TBird 38 and I have my calendar and no crashes yet. I hope it holds since I lost a lot of time trying to get my calendar back. It is now back as a column on the right side of my message folders. Thanks to everyone. Bob

Discussions elsewhere suggest that having graphics hardware acceleration enabled in Thunderbird can cause crashes.
