Flash not responding in Firefox
I'm about ready to start tearing my hair out!!!!!! Firefox kept crashing. Nothing I tried worked. So, I used MozBackup and saved settings, plugins and cookies. Fully uninstalled Firefox then reinstalled. Noticed after the reinstall that when I hit a page that has flash my cursor goes NUTS. It flickers like mad. Also, I had a flash issue so I used Adobe's uninstaller then reinstalled. Well, flash doesn't work. Uninstalled flash and Firefox again. This time I had MozBackup only save cookies and bookmarks. Reinstalled Firefox and even without flash installed, the cursor still goes nuts on a page with flash. The page will freeze. Can't close the page, open a new tab or use the back button. If I go to YouTube and try to play a video, all I get is a grey box. If I right click on the box, the only thing that happens is that Firefox freezes.
Installing flash got me a couple popups. Talk about 'greek' to me. I'm at a loss as to what they mean. Here's what they said:
install_flash_player.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point þÿ could not be locate in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscms.dll
InstallFlashPlayer.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point H<xéGóÿÿH<éVóÿÿ¹ </p>
This is what Adobe reports when I check my version of flash:
YOUR SYSTEM INFORMATION Your Flash Version 13.0.0 Your browser name Firefox Your Operating System (OS) Windows (Windows 8)
Should also note that a few hours before all this happened, had a BSOD. Don't know why, just happened out of the blue. When it came back up it reported drive errors. So I did a scan/repair of the system drive.
There is no issue in IE, just Firefox.
