Hi,

This a private case of a general problem in Firefox. I cannot switch page direction or text direction (LTR to RTL and vice-versa) using a keyboard shortcut.

The regular shortcut for all programs running under Microsoft Windows is Rctrl+Rshift for RTL text and Lctrl+Lshift for LTR text.

Like I mentioned before there is no addon that allows the configuration of Keyboard shortcuts in FF. This addon is much needed specially for those working with a Laptop and Touchpad.

Thanks, Roey

In Firefox you can use Shift+Ctrl+X to switch the bidi page direction.
You can set the pref bidi.browser.ui to true on the about:config page.

Alright Ctrl+Shift+X does switch the direction but for me it is an uncomfortable keyboard for such frequent action.

Is there an option in the about:config to set your own keyboard shortcuts ? Is there a plugin for this ?

Thanks

If you set the above mentioned pref bidi.browser.ui to true then you can use Alt + E W
Not a real improvement, but at least you won't have to press three keys simultaneously.

Nope... bidi.browser.ui is set to true but Alt+W opens "LastPass site search" and Alt+E opens the "Edit" option in the taskbar.

I don't get it such sophisticated browser with no option to set keyboard shortcuts...

If you open the Edit menu with Alt + E then W should select the "Switch Text Direction" menu item in that menu.

I told you Alt+W opens "LastPass site search" I don't know how to override this, I do know that I need LastPass very much.

Thanks

Do not press Alt + W, release Alt after the Edit menu opens and only press W
