Somehow my ebay US search suggestion which I use constantly use disappeared from my firefox search box and when I went to download it on the add-on pages, I received this error message. This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

− <OpenSearchDescription> <ShortName>Search eBay</ShortName> <Description>Search eBay</Description> <InputEncoding>UTF-8</InputEncoding> <Image height="16" width="16" type="image/x-icon">http://anywhere.ebay.com/favicon.ico</Image> <Url type="text/html" method="get" template="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-104533-33622-0/4?mpre=http://shop.ebay.com/?_nkw={searchTerms}"/> <Url type="application/x-suggestions+json" method="get" template="http://anywhere.ebay.com/services/suggest/?q={searchTerms}&s=0"/> <Url type="application/x-suggestions+xml" method="get" template="http://anywhere.ebay.com/services/suggest/?v=xml&q={searchTerms}&s=0"/> − <moz:SearchForm> http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-104533-33622-0/4?mpre=http://www.ebay.com/ </moz:SearchForm> <ie:PreviewUrl type="text/html" template="http://anywhere.ebay.com/services/accelerator/?q={searchTerms}&s=0"/> </OpenSearchDescription>

Hi, I have the same problem but have found a workaround for it. First save the .xml file (right click the download link and 'save as') to your desktop then close Firefox. Next, move the .xml file from your desktop into your Mozilla Firefox\Search Plugins folder (probably c:\program files\Mozilla Firefox\search plugins). Restart Firefox and the search plugin should be available.

HTH.

Hi djsv, You must be a computer genius. I just followed your steps and it worked. Magic! Thank you so, so much. I am just a beginner and am so grateful for your expertise. By the way, your steps are so clear and concise for a layman like me. Have a great week-end..

Didn't work for me. Could you advise the name of the Plug In???

FYI: This is the full quote of the error I got back; (below I'm listing an additional fact/event), "" XML file "does not have any style info associated with it"???""

Further; I have had a web page, example one from "download.com" appear normal then revert to a STRANGE Text Only Page. Thus I fear there is a missing Something or an incorrect setting. I hope someone in this Forum will have an answer; Thanks in advance.

SYS: FF ver 7. 0. 1. . WIN XP Prof SP3 w/all updates >2011NOV02 I did a search for the Problem and got here, but has nothing to do with this subject, as it's a page load problem.
