I try to delete tabs on new tab page but they do not delete. How can I get rid of them

I use my new tab page frequently. But when I try to delete from history it does not work. How can I clear these to make room for more? Also, some sites are added after one visit but ones I use daily do not show.

Hi Jeanette, you can increase the number of rows to check whether pages you care about are listed a bit lower in the list. If you find them there, you can pin them near the start of the list for better access. See: Customize items on your Firefox New Tab page.

If there are particular sites clogging up the page with multiple entries, you could consider using the Library window to remove them from history more quickly. Use Ctrl+Shift+H to pop up that window, then in the upper right corner there is a tiny search box. Enter enough of the site URL to uniquely identify the garbage. Then you can click (single-click, not double-click) the first result and use Ctrl+A to select the entire list for deletion (right-click > Delete Pages). Of course, be careful not to delete pages you want to keep in history.
