I'm the original poster of this issue. The problem remains. I cannot restore the bookmarks from my previous version. The "solution" provided merely tells (again) how to download the new version. I still want to know either: 1) Tell me how to retrieve my former bookmarks, OR 2) Tell me how to disable the ever present and annoying reminder to do so

It seems the only solution available is to keep the older version and curse every time I see the plea to upgrade. Mozilla should be ashamed.

I'm confused here "how" did you update your Firefox and did you do standard or custom install during that option? That's makes a difference. I always did custom and installed over previous version and had no access saves and Addon on Firefox.

You must still have the old profile so these links will help you to retrieve data for any new profile created by updating. The article containing the first link tells you how to find your file with Firefox open or closed.

You can stop the update nagging by installing a policy, which you have to create yourself.
