I've been using chatzilla for years, and now, with the new firefox, I'm left without a way to use IRC. If anyone knows a good alternative until when/if chatzilla becomes compatible with the new firefox, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Chatzilla is dead in Firefox but lives on in Seamonkey. I know of no current plans to offer Chatzilla in Firefox. You can use Hexchat, a open source fork of XChat.

Chatzilla will still work in Firefox 52 ESR and is one of the reasons why it will work in SeaMonkey 2.49.1 as it uses the same Gecko as Fx 52 ESR.

Hexchat seems to be one of the better IRC clients for Windows of late as some are discontinued or not free.

Not sure how extensive you use IRC for but there is also some web based IRC clients like http://mibbit.com/ and https://kiwiirc.com/
