How to I get thunderbird to start to ask me to confirm to delete a message before it deletes it? I accidentally pressed on the box that asked me to stop getting the message to confirm to delete the message. How do I get that option back?

Also check this one: 'AppMenu' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab click on 'Config Editor' button In search type: mail.warn Line: mail.warn_on_delete_from_trash Double click on that line to toggle the Value from true to false. (or right click on line and select 'Toggle')

if you use shift Delete and need warning: Repeat above process on this line: mail.warn_on_shift_delete

Close window - top right X click on 'OK

If you are using Shift Delete

If using 'Empty Trash' option, this will force a prompt. 'AppMenu' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab click on 'Config Editor' button In search type: emptyTrash Line: mailnews.emptyTrash.dontAskAgain Double click on that line to toggle the Value from true to false. (or right click on line and select 'Toggle') Close window - top right X click on 'OK
