Since 19 Oct Firefox crashes always at start-up, and also in secured mode. I see a window and then it collapses and Mozilla "Absturzmelder" ("crash reporter"?) comes up. My PC does update itself and is on latest versions.

Chosen solution

I tried another version of Firefox: I installed "Mozilla Firefox 56.0.1 (x86 de)" and now it runs. I changed from 64 bit to 32 bit version.

I tried it, but the result is the same and the window of the crash reporter just comes up more quickly.

Dan, thank you for the update. Could you also check whether there are any updates available for your Nvidia drivers. The support article suggests safe way to check that (unlike what you might find in web search results): Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.

Hello My Nvidia drivers are updated regularly. In fact 10 minutes before installing the Firefox 64 bit version 57 beta I installed an new driver for Nvidia, and Firefox failed to start up as it (and its precessors) did so since one week. But then I installed the 32 bit version, and it worked. So, I would believe that the 32 bit version is the solution. Besides, I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
