Hello, I have attempted to restore my suddenly missing bookmarks by importing them from my backup. However, a) the backups folder (Library - Application Support- Firefox - Profiles - efs0---.default - bookmarkbackups) will not allow me to select any of the files. b)when I look for this file in my time machine back up - there is no Library to select from. I have followed all the articles that Firefox supplies but none of them address this situation.

If anyone could help me find out how to restore (via import) my back ups (hundreds) I'd be grateful.

Note: the most recent backup that the bookmarks menu shows only has 17 sites saved. So i need to go farther back than the bookmark menu memory. thanks! mg

Are there JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder?

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.
