How do I unlock a locked email account in Thunderbird?

more options

When I open Thunderbird, my default email account icon shows a padlock. I am assuming that means the account is locked. How do I unlock that account? That's where most of my email comes in!

The lock means it is using a secure connection. It would have been there from the time you setup the account.

1. I didn't mean to establish 2 threads for the same subject. That's my computer illiteracy showing up. Sorry. 2. The lock wasn't there when I first set up the account.

Also, Thunderbird will not receive email at [email protected].
If I am in that account and click on 'Get Mail', nothing happens, even if
there is mail to be received. I can see mail on my account at Roadrunner,
but Thunderbird won't get it from there.

Then check with your email provider and get a current list of server settings. Compare that with what you have in Thunderbird for that account. Make any needed changes.
