I've been mostly successful in migrating to a new Win 7 machine from an XP machine. I'm stuck on not being able migrate my personal Firefox profile. I was successful with my wife's profile. I can see my Profile folder and there are multiple *.default files. Which one does Firefox use to allow my browser to use my old browser settings. How can I tell if there is something missing in this file that is preventing FF from restoring my browser settings?

If you have multiple profiles, chances are that you specify which profile you want to start in when you first start Firefox. You can also run firefox.exe -p (with Firefox closed down) to open the Profile Manager, select your profile, then click Start Firefox. Once Firefox opens, you should be able to go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder (menu bar), or orange Firefox button > About > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder. Once you click Show Folder, your profile settings and file will pop up and you can transfer over whatever data you want to.
