Is there a version of Firefox I can run on a PC that only supports SSE (and NOT SSE2)
I want to download Firefox for an old PC running Windows XP 2002, service pack 2. System requirements for Firefox 9 include a system that supports SSE2 - mine only supports SSE. I cannot download anything to the PC directly as the browser has stopped working (IE7) so I am trying to download to a usb memory stick on my current PC (Windows 7) then transfer to the old PC. I am not very technical but hope someone can help me understand where I can find a version of Firefox that will run on the old PC.

Just try if it works on your computer. SSE2 is a recommendation and may not be a requirement. Having a sufficient amount of RAM and a processor that is fast enough is more important.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
- Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Ok, thanks very much, I will try it. Are there other versions between 3.6 and 9? I can always download both to my memory stick, but try using 9 first. The problem is that I am trying to fix my mother-in-laws PC which is in her house half an hour away by car) so I don't want to get there and find out I have the wrong version.
The versions between Firefox 3.6.x and Firefox 9.0.x aren't supported any longer and have security bugs that were patched in the 3.6.x and 9.0.x versions.
