Version 7.0.1 has high CPU
Hi- I recently updated to v7.0.1 and am having high CPU issues. I attempted the following fix but had no luck:
1) In the address bar, type about:config 2) If it shows up, click on I'll be careful 3) Filter for network.http.max-connections. 4) Change this from 256 to 48. 5) Restart Firefox.
The CPU surge appears to be worst on my YAHOO home page. Constantly between 60-70%. As is FF is pretty much unusable for me.
Also, network.http.max-connections-oer-server is set @ 15. Not sure if that matters or not.
ty for your help.

This problem is appearing as both high CPU useage, failure to connect, slow response, etc. I have the same issue and seem to get any type of response. I tried all the logical/obvious things post the 7.0.1 update which may cause issues with firefox (reloaded it, running with plugins disabled, etc)
I can't believe Mozilla/firefox isn't all over this one.
7.0.1 was suppose to make the CPU issue better not worse. I'm sorry I updated now. I hope we can get an answer.

Thanks Rich- I already switched network.http.max-connections to 48. Didn't work. I wonder if I should try 30?
All day and no response from a Mozilla person.
This really is a shame for Firefox... Actually a good browser, but this Sh***********t took me weeks to locate, why the whole f*cking PC is hanging... Damn it !!! 1st i thought it's the bloody Flash-Plugin, which for years is a pain in the ass, too. (BTW: Damn you Adobe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
So... I'll install ------------->Firefox 8 beta 3<-------------- and let you know whether my PC explodes or Adobe just wants to install 2 TerraByte for their sh*tty Adobe Reader... ;)
They don't appear to care Doc.
Oky doh Guys. Until now the pretty fresh Firefox 8.0 beta 3 seems to be better !!! It takes the same CPU-usage when watching a video on youtube as the latest Opera Browser(both use the same Adobe Flash...) So it seems they put the Spliffs away and got into some de-bugging ;) (no offense open-source-guys... actually fireFox is my fav. browser)
CPU-usage still too high to me, but maybe that's the crappy Adobe Flash Player...
