You can a download a whole load of different FF releases here.

After you have downloaded and installed 3.6.x and make sure that all your personal preferences are okay as well as all your addons and plugins then go to the Windows Change or Uninstall function. Check to see if both versions of FF are installed. If they are both installed then uninstall the version that you do not want.

Thanks for the advice. I intend on doing exactly what you recommended, but is there any way for me to tell what version I had before the upgrade. I am assuming it was 3.6.12 as it appears that would be the previous version, but I would like to be sure. Anyway thanks again.

On Windows 7

Go to the Windows Change and Uninstall function and see what FF program it shows.

When I open this function and go down to Mozilla it says

Mozilla Firefox 4.0b7 (x86 en-US)

Sorry I don't recall what this function says in XP.
