Hello.

I should know the files where are stored the global prefrences (shared by all email accounts).

I don't find about account parameters, which are stored in the file pref.js of the profile directory of each account.

I treat about the gobal preferences which are defined by the menus Tools > Options (or, in Linux, by Edition > Preferences), such as, in General, "When a new message arrives Play a sound System sound" (and many others). In what file (or files) are stored these preferences. I think it's not in the prefs.js of an account (because it applies to all the accounts). Otherwise, it would be necessary to duplicate it to the prefs.js of each account.

Searching in the threads publicated here, I found the archived thread "Where are global preferences". But it was about a global account for grouping all the emails of various account in a unique account. Is not what I am searching.

I use Thunderbird 91.5.0 on Linux and 60.9.1 (portable) on Windows 10.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Just to clarify: prefs.js applies to all accounts.

Thank you, David, for your answer.

The file prefs.js is in the directory of the profile (xaxxxaaa.default in Windows, xaxxxaaa.default-release in Linux). I thought there is a profile for each account (a directory as xaxxxaaa.default or .default-release, different for each account). I was wrong. As you say that prefs.js applies to all accounts, I understand there is a unique profile directory with a unique prefs.js. So, the global preferences,as the account parameters, are stored in the unique prefs.js.

Do you agree, David.

Yes. That is the repository.

OK. So, the global preferences, as the account parameters, are stored in the file prefs.js which stayes, with many others, in the profile directory (in Linux : /home/<user-name>/.thunderbird/4g469lbs.default-release

; in Windows : c:\users\<user-name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\4g469lbs.default ; the file name 4g469lbs is only an example).

Thank you David for your help.
