i've not yet resolved the visibility, but if you click on any spot in the templates file .. hopefully ou will see they are still there, but we just can't see them! SUCH a hopeless disrespectful up grade!! same for using colors!!

Is the Templates folder missing, or the folder is there but empty? If it's empty, try this: right-click the folder, Properties, Repair Folder.

I just did that twice .. but the files are all still not visible ... I click any area, then it shows content of that one email, but up top -- where they are listed ... blank. It shows the email below, but in the listing area .. nothing shows unless clicked .. line by line ... and still only one line shows at a time. WHEN will mozilla repair this?

Old saying .. don't fix it, if it ain't broke!!

I used to click on the 'write' drop down menu and the stationery options were there but now they are missing and the options now are message, event or task.

Can anyone help?

I think you must have had the Stationery add-on, which hasn't been updated for TB 68. SmartTemplate4 works on 68 and can import Stationery templates.

This problem just challenged me again -- now, Inbox and Templates both with this behavior. For templates, I 1st made a separate sub-folder, then highlighted ALL messages in orig. folder, dragged into new sub-folder, and Bingo, all there. Now, the Inbox -- it just did the same thing . disappeared from visibility. ALL emails are in there, just click anyplace, and see. Sooo, again I made a separate sub-folder under Inbox, dragged all emails from Inbox to separate folder .. and bingo, they are there!

Difference is .. In Templates repaired, I can see all emails listed. However, in Inbox repaired .. yes, the emails are there, but NOT visible, and oldest is at TOP, and I can't activate the reverse button ... so new ones will be below.

NOW WHAT?? All new emails will go into original folders, but NOT VISIBLE! Thus, to see ... click anywhere, it can be read below .. and then drag into the new folder.... and THEN hopefully you will see in the new folder. In my "Templates folder repaired" I can see and sort the emails. In my Inbox folder repaired .. theyare not visible, but anywhere I click shows the old collection. Problem in this folder, the subject, date, etc. title bar is NOT visible, and so I can NOT reverse the display order -- and heer i has OLDEST at top, not newest.

I hope someone comes up with an improved solution .

This is a TOTAL HEADACHE!! MOZILLA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEIR SELVES FOR FORCING SUCH IDIOCY UPON US!

Possibly your mail files got corrupted.
First of all create a backup of your Thunderbird profile folder.
     https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile
Then try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder.
Right-click the folder - Properties - Repair Folder
Note: depending on the corruption this may erase messages from the affected folder which cannot be recovered anymore.
In that case you'd need to restore them from a recent backup done prior to the corruption.

GREAT!!

I did it again .. it worked for the Inbox, THANKS! but not for templates. I made a "templates folder repaired" folder in Templates, did a grand "drag and drop" so now all those emails are "visible" again. New ones can just get dragged over.
