Hideman, the issue is google broke oauth for us. So you want to update to 60.9.1 - do Help > About to update

p.s. this also affects version 68. the advice for 68 is to update to 68.2.1

I don't quite understand what you are trying to say.

But the 2 step authorization method that google broke for Thunderbird users is FIXED if you use version 60.9.1 or 68.2.1

[Correct] This has nothing to do with anything any user has done (not on, but ...) TO their machine. And it was not a Thunderbird bug.

We know EXACTLY what change at google caused this, and we know EXACTLY what the fix was. The problem is resolved.

I didn't post this thread to intend a battle and I supposed my description is enough to understand that I don't need a tuto but more a workaround or fix to the issue with google.

In addition I also said that the two factor auth work for my mobile email client called BlueBird so the issue is from Thunderbird (maybe by a update of google API but still Thunderbird issue)

Wayne Merry I will try to download manually the version you mention and try if it fix my issue but it would be great if distrib get the fix version in there repos because both debian and ubuntu have the version 1:60.9.0-1.

Until your distro releases TB 60.9.1, you can apply the workaround that requires switching a pref. in Config. editor:

This should work for gmail IMAP accounts using OAuth2 authentication. Use the standard account password.

sfhowes your fix does not work for me.

I've updated to the latest version 68.2.2 by downloading directly on thunderbird site and it works perfectly with OAuth the only issue for me it's that it will not auto updated by my package manager but btw the new design looks great.

And finally I just need to add a custom .desktop entry to have it in my apps.
