After a download FF pops up a download complete above the Windows Task bar. I want to turn it off.

If you downloading a lot of files, it becomes impossible to work in another program, or even FF with millions of DOWNLOAD COMPLETES.

I hate it!

Hi BobSpar11, mine "pulses" the download arrow when the download is complete. It seems pretty subtle. Is that what yours is doing, or do you see a more distracting notification?

Do you have any download-related add-ons, such as Download Notifications or Download Manager (S3)? These could generate "desktop" notifications.

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything download-related, or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

Ah... thank you. No wonder I could not turn it off in Fire Fox.

It was a stupid add on called Down Load Notifications. I must have added the thing while trying to find a decent Video Grabber.

Clean again... Yay!... thanks for the quick fix
