When composing emails, why won't the cursor stay where it belong and not jump back into the already composed content?

I'm typing an email, and the cursor jumps back into the body 'jumped to" pos of the already written content. I not only have to get it back to the end, but have to correct what ever was at the 'jumped to' position. If iI miss it, the email look like this. Am I stupid for missing the mess, or stupid for using Thunderbird?

When those sort of things happen to me it is usually because I have been resting my hand on the ctrl key without noticing it. Although a flat battery in a cordless keyboard can make finding the cursor less than assuming.

Matt, The problem is in the code, not the user, but nice try.

You are welcome to file a bug with the details of exactly how a developer can reproduce the action. Until you can, I literally have no idea what you think someone can do to fix this issue you say is in the code. There might be an issue, but unless a developer can reproduce then they will never be able to observe a problem to determine the cause.

Personally I have offer what I have to the topic. My belief is most issues of this nature come down to user actions. The most common user action causing trouble is pasting from Microsoft office and bringing the garbage it produces into Thunderbird.
