Firefox Bookmarks and Passwords
Hello people, I have a really important question her Hope you guys can help! I call Apple Support a week ago and they cant find the solution that I need.....
A year ago my iMac Early 2088 get broke! No solution no repair. I took off the internal HD to keep my files. Recently I get an iMac Early 2011 and works perfect. The thing is that I need to recover almost 8 years of bookmarks and my passwords that I keep in my Firefox Program on the old Mac and Old HD.
At that Time I never create a firefox account so thats not a way to recover.
I post this questions in Mac forums etc... and a bunch of people guide me to search in my old HD, Library - User - Aplications and search for a Firefox folder that contain all that info to migrate to the new firefox in teh new mac.
I have the internal HD of the old mac in a external Hd reader,
Is there anyway that you can help me to recover all this valuable things that I need to recover???
As you see in the picture abobe from that Point everything is a Dead End

Does Mac have a method of showing all the hidden files and folders (similar to the feature on Windows)? Even if there is only a temporary way to turn that on, I think it would be really helpful.
Thats a good question! Im pretty sure Mac has that Feature but hidden!
What f9older is showing in the screenshot? Is that the global application Support folder or the one in the ~/Library folder?
The global folder is where Firefox is installed (probably in the Mozilla folder that shows).
You need to open the Users folder where your personal data is stored to retrieve data from the profile folder.
- /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
- ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
This is what I see when I go to:
/Users/gustavo/Library/
I dont see application support!
Could I ask you about your original screenshot. There was a Mozilla folder there. Was that empty or what did you mean by dead end?
jscher2000 there was not a mozilla folder. I mean dead end cause there is nothing to work! Is not firefox folder or mozilla that was for me a dead end at least that you guys found another way! Thanks
Does that screenshot show /Users/gustavo/ or really /Users/gustavo/Library/ because Library is a hidden folder and you may have ended up in the parent folder (gustavo)?
cor-el that Screenshoot shows user/gustavo I dont know how get in to hiddeen files! Library from open the HD and go to folders and then Library
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
cor-el thanks for you patience! The HD that has the firefox passwords and bookmarks is in a external hard drive reader! I can not use the finder or the things that your suggest. Let me know if is a language barrier from y part that I cant understand. Im just a graphic designer and the explanation that you send me is about systems etc.. that I barely understand also I dont know if the article talks about if i have installed that system or the external HD has installed older systems! Thanks again and please help me like talking with a 12 years old guy! LOL! Thanks!
