More speed with FF Quantum? With me it is the CONTRARY - back to Dial-Up-speed levels. Incredible!!
FF 57/ Quantum was installed 'overnight' without me being notified. What happened was that I almost could NO MORE work with more than three (!!) open tabs, and the loading speeds of new pages goes in the MINUTES - just like in old times with dial-up connections. What could cause this?
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.

hi HenningDuve, thanks for reporting this. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum (or if it's to long through a site like https://pastebin.mozilla.org/ and provide the link here)?
this might give us a clue what is going on. thank you!

Thanks guys - I just cut the last three lines because it was too long.
can you also post still what's showing in the accessibility section?
Here you go: Accessibility Activated false Prevent Accessibility 0 Accessible Handler Used true Accessibility Instantiator
ok, thanks. please try to refresh firefox and see if this can address the issue...
Refresh? You mean close and new start?
no, it's a function in firefox resetting it to the factory defaults (but keeping your bookmarks, history & passwords): Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
Got it - clicked on the link, found the refresh button, clicked it... and FF COLLAPSED. Writing this after new start.
Could the slow internet speed contribute to that problem? I have rarely more than 10Mbps.
Hm. I thought I would get an answer to this.
sorry i didn't understand what you meant with the collapse. your connection speed obviously plays a role in how fast pages load, but with a 10Mbps line you should be FAR out of dial-up-speed territory.
what's the current state after you've refreshed in regards to the problem?
Collapse means what is says - it simply disappeared from the screen, and by checking with the task manager, short time later there as well. Now, after restart (of FF, not the PC), it is slightly better, but still under the previous performance of FF 56. Not happy about this - I consider downgrading if there is no solution for that.
I just took the time - loading the page techdows.com took about 25 seconds. Far too slow.
At the same time the download speed was 9.2 Mbps.
Hm. Such a slow customer support which finds no solution at all: Note C.
people replying here are normal users like you volunteering their time to help (and they might need some time to sleep every once in a while as well). let me just say that my interest in hanging around this thread is rapidly veining once you start grading us...
THAT answer confirmed my judgement 100%. An explanation and/or apology I would have accepted - this kind of rudeness and being impolite I don't. Volunteer or not, you do not really put honour to the term 'moderator'. Sorry to say that. Even volunteers should be polite - especially if the problem appears to be difficult and the 'customer' desperate to get his PC running again. Do you realize what kind of damage you just did to the reputation of Mozilla? Think about that, please.
This said, I will get help elsewhere - I am seriously disappointed. And yes, I know what it means to be a volunteer. I am member of several organizations like that - and leading two myself. No customer whatsoever complained about me being impolite in the past 40 years.

You 'would have accepted an apology' ????
Philipp has been very, very polite to you and been trying to help you in his spare time.
A little appreciation and grattitude wouldn't go amiss.
