How do I export messages to individual files and follow the suggested steps below?

You could export the messages to individual files that the other person can import. The .eml format is well suited to this, but not all email clients know how to use this. You could then zip these up and send them by email as an attachment, or via Dropbox or similar, or put them on a USB stick or CD.
