My thunderbird will not open links. I went to tools as directed by help page of course there is no (options) bar in tools. I refreshed thunderbird and it refreshed Firefox!!!!!!!! I am unable to verify my account in thunderbird because the damn link button doesn't work. I'm using Vivaldi to send this message. If you send me email do not include a link because that would be useless.

When I went to the help page for thunderbird there was a link saying to refresh thunderbird,

I have no idea what help article you're referring to. It's certainly not the one you posted the link for.

Upon further investigation I believe that the reason may be that mozilla is not currently my default browser.

Following the link you posted. In the article, the first thing is to 'check that the operating system's default browser is specified'.

So after all, I don't understand why you attempt to refresh Thunderbird, when you should set your default browser.

If you're having difficulties setting the default browser, ask in a Microsoft forum.

What help page? Please provide a link. What are you trying to achieve in the first place?

I refreshed thunderbird and it refreshed Firefox!

Then you did something wrong.

I am unable to verify my account in thunderbird because the damn link button doesn't work.

Not sure what you're trying to verify. In any case, you can always copy the URL of the link in the message, and paste it into the URL bar of a web browser.

All I am trying to do is get thunderbird to open links I click on in emails I receive. I had no problems when first installed but now when I click on any link nothing happens. When I went to the help page for thunderbird there was a link saying to refresh thunderbird, I clicked it and it refreshed firefox. I can use yahoo mail to read email and in that program I can still click a link and it will open. LINK----https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working#w_firefox

Upon further investigation I believe that the reason may be that mozilla is not currently my default browser. I have tried to make it so but nothing happens. When I click "Make default" I the general section of the mozilla pull down menu. My other browser is also not my default browser either.

Thank you.. I had to go into my window settings and set mozilla as my default there. Thank you for your time. Sorry I was so frustrated last night but you know how it goes. Again thank you.
