Hi guys, It did it's auto-update and since then FF crashes (almost) everytime I start. Sometimes I am offered safe mode. Then it crashes when I do something like opening options. I restarted Win7, downloaded FF via IE, renamed the Program directory into OldFirefox and installed again, because I read about the clean re-install. No change. Is a complete uninstall necessary? Thanks.

Do you use either Citrix Xendesk or Websense Endpoint? There might be a new issue of startup crashes with one or both of those programs and Firefox 48.

Thanks jscher2000,

websense was it. Creating a qipcap.dll from an existing dll in the firefox directory solves it. An empty dll will throw an error.

Is it a Firefox problem or Websense?

Thx again, A.
