I'm trying to play the following: http://player.theplatform.com/p/NnzsPC/widget/select/media/guid/2410887629/3021121. I'm told I need Adobe Flash Player and I try to install it but still nothing plays. I have another PC with Shockwave Flash that will play it but I can't find Shockwave Flash at the addons page. What can I do?

Do you see the Shockwave Flash plugin listed on the about:plugins page?

You can open "about:" pages via the location/address bar

  • "about:" is a protocol to access special pages

Your system details list doesn't show the Shockwave Flash plugin as installed and enabled.

  • Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

You can find links of the latest Shockwave Flash player for Firefox on this page:

You can verify on the Adobe Flash Players Test Page that the Flash plugin is working and which version you have.

Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.

See Re-initializing the plugins database:

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 21.0.0.242 Flash Player (Linux) Version 11.2.202.621

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download.

Clicking on both the links you posted did the same thing as I did manually earlier but I still got the message that Flash Player was needed. I did find Shockwave Flash installed in the Plugin section, version 21.0.0.182. It was noted that it should be updated. When i clicked on Update Now I was taken to a page to check plugins and was told to install the latest version but Firefox still tells me that Shockwave should be updated. I changed the option to Ask to Activate and I can play the widget but I'm afraid that I still have an unstable version installed.

Use this to remove the older version. Then the links above to load the current.
