pen office cannot find firefox
I regularly insert hyperlinks into OO text documents. New hyperlinks inserted into a text document get the error message couldn't find a web browser on your system, yet hyperlinks inserted into the same document (I am using an old document, 'saved as" and altering parts of it to create a new one) still work perfectly. Using OSX 10.8.5, Firefox 40.0.3. The original document was created prior to the latest Firefox release. I have tried to insert a hyperlink into a new text document and it didn't work either. Have swapped default browser to Safari and back to Firefox, no luck. Not sure if this is connected with the Firefox upgrade or an Open Office issue. (OO is telling me to install a web browser - suggests Mozilla - or change desktop preferences. The latter makes no sense to me)
Welcome any thoughts. Deadline for this next report to people who rely on the external references is looming!

HI sandalholme , That is strange that is asking you to install a browser to open up urls from a OO document. I attached where the preferences are for default browser in the general settings. Is Firefox listed there?
- Are you using version 2011? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ma.../aae07aa7-9e07-4a41-b916-23de62ee6028
- It is also mentioned that you may need to turn off an auto correct function in Preferences: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ma.../09303d90-3fff-4024-94d3-c52b1970cb7f
Resetting Firefox sometimes helps.

Many thanks for the response. The issue is partly resolved. I was using an internal link to the site I regularly link to in order to support the reports I do. However, I was not using the full url and when I did, the link worked. Except that site is being migrated to a new one, so I now get "page not found"! But that's another issue. I still can't understand why OO couldn't see the browser for the internal link, rather than just not find the site, but that's an OO issue, not for Mozilla.
