I have done a system restore to get passwords back and then exported them as both xml and csv but cannot import them to the newest Firefox version. I don't want to do a system restore every day to use Firefox. . . .

I don't see how the Password Exporter extension would work in Firefox 32. The password files were changed as of Firefox 32, and that extension doesn't look like it was updated. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/password-exporter/versions/ Version 1.2.1 Released August 29, 2010 - Over 4 years since the last update. Works with Firefox 3.0 and later ....

See if this helps you. Type about:config in the Location Bar and hit Enter. Paste this pref in the Search field at the top. signon.importedFromSqlite Then double-click that pref to toggle it to false, then restart Firefox.

Hopefully your Passwords will show again.

You also need to delete the logins.json file in the profile folder after you have reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref and closed Firefox to make Firefox import the passwords from the signons.sqlite file. This means that you need the matching signons.sqlite and key3.db file in the profile folder.
