I want to see 2 screens at once either as separate instances or side by side.

I play an internet scrabble with my wife. My strategy is to use "Tiny tiles" on the board on one side of the screen and bring up the Word Finder page on the other side. IE accommodates this by starting a second instance of IE, the same size as my Scrabble board page so I can read both at once and easily match words with spaces on the board. I just tried Firefox which creates a new tab which - surprise - covers up the board; I can see only one at a time. Ouch! Can I persuade FF to start up a new instance or, alternatively, does it have a means of reducing the size of the tabs so that two can be seen side by side as in a spreadsheet where I can open and work with two (or more) workbooks in the same page.

You can open a new window via "Firefox > New Tab > New Window" or "File > New Window" and resize the windows or use an extension.
