I use duckduckgo in Firefox and everything was working well. I turn on today and can't load anything. There was an update 2 days ago 1-22-2022.

As of today.1-22-2022. no page or app will load. I have been using duckduckgo on Firefox for years with no problem. An update yesterday 1-23-2022 took place, now all i get is a blue dash in the tab moving side to side, but no loading. Does Firefox have a technician Who can contact me? Waiting for another user is not acceptable.

Sorry, no technicians will call!

If Firefox is nonfunctional from the address bar down, a common explanation is that a program installer or uninstaller messed with certain shared Microsoft files, especially the essential VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL file. If that goes missing, Firefox becomes useless.

To rule out that issue, you can (re)run Microsoft's installer for the VC Runtime files:

(A) Open https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-160#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022

(B) In the "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022" section of the article, download the installer for your system:

  • 64-bit Windows: the "X64" download
  • 32-bit Windows: the "X86" download

(C) Run that installer and restart Windows.

Any improvement?
