Can't download files in Firefox. Keep getting error message saying source file could not be read. Have tried all the suggestions I've found on the web to fix the problem, but nothing works. Tried refreshing Firefox and uninstalling and then reinstalling Firefox, but that didn't solve problem. No problem downloading files with Chrome.

Problem has now disappeared. Download works fine. I didn't change anything. It just all of a sudden started working OK.

Thank you for your reply. I tried all the suggested steps for fixing the problems, but nothing worked. I don't know if this means anything, but there is no compreg.dat file in the profile folder.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
