Hi, "forget about this site" worked fine for Facebook site in previous Firefox versions but it doesn't work for Firefox 70.0.1 (it's ok for sites different than Facebook). Any help or fix please?

Mozilla officially released Firefox 70.0 for Windows,

Mac, and Linux on October 22, a release that comes

with extra protection for users' privacy and passwords. These additions include a Privacy protections report,

new social tracking protection, and a built-in data breach

notification service for saved logins.

This is the second time Firefox users experienced issues in October, seeing that Mozilla updated the Firefox 69.0.2 changelog with a note in early October saying that downloading files may not work for Windows 10 users who have the Parental Controls feature toggled on and are part of a family group.

The problem is described on Reddit [1, 2, 3] and in a

Mozilla bug tracker in issue reported on October 4,

with users being advised not to update to 69.0.2 until a

patched Firefox version was released

Thanks for your reply. Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough about my problem. It occurs in Firefox 70.0.1 when I try to use History --> Show all history, I specify "Facebook" in Search history and then I Right-click while I click on the site (Facebook) I wish to forget in the resulting list and I select "Forget About This Site". The Facebook site (and only that) is not removed from history.

Mozilla acknowledged an issue affecting Firefox users after updating to the latest 70.0 release and preventing websites or page elements that use dynamic JavaScript from loading.

This known issue was added to the Firefox 70.0 release notes and it is known to impact a wide range of websites including but not limited to YouTube or Facebook from loading properly.

According to a bug report describing this issue on Mozilla's bug tracker, "Website banners are displayed but content fails to load correctly and just shows a blank portion of the page where the detail should be."

"For example, Facebook shows the top bar but doesn't not display any feed content. The Asda site does not display order details. Both survey sites fail to display any content on the screen." Blank Facebook page

Users who want to check if they're affected by this bug can go to Mozilla's self-diagnosis site for storage problems at https://firefox-storage-test.glitch.me/ according to Mozilla Software Engineer Andrew Sutherland.

If the "Good: Totally Working. (fullyOperational)" status is displayed for all subsystems on the diagnosis page you are not impacted by this issue. However, if there are any failure messages, your Firefox installation is bugged and there is a problem with the profile's storage.

Mozilla provides a temporary workaround for Firefox 70 not properly loading websites and page elements until a fix will be issued with a future release.

The workaround requires you to change the dom.storage.next_gen preference using the following procedure:

01.In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.
02.A warning page may appear. Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page.
  03. Search for dom.storage.next_gen.
  04. Change the dom.storage.next_gen preference to false.

"There is a known issue in Firefox 69.0.2 and Beta 70.0b11+ that causes downloads to fail in Windows 10 when you have parental controls or content restrictions on," said Mozilla at the time. "If you haven't already updated to 69.0.2, please avoid doing so until we've shipped a fix."
