Verifying a Firefox Monitor Alert as geniune.

more options

On 2/22/19 I received an e-mail "Firefox Monitor Alert: Your account was involved in a breach."

I have never heard of MyFitnessPal and do not believe any of my information would have been on this site. Therefore this e-mail is either bogus or something else is going on.

Could someone, somewhere, verify the legitimacy of this message for me?

Thank you,

Ginger Gray

Hi Ginger, apparently data brokers share our data without informing us. That seems to be the source of most of the leaks for my email address.

If you aren't sure whether an email notification is accurate, you can search your email address directly on these sites:

(1) Firefox Monitor

https://monitor.firefox.com/

(2) Firefox Monitor was created in partnership with this site, which collects the lists of data breaches:
