Java 8 101 and Firefox 48 (both 32 bit)- Plugin says it's not blocked but it doesn't work
System is Windows 7, Firefox version 48 32 bit, java version 8 u101. After installing and allowing the java plugin to run, Java content still does not work. From the screenshot, you should be able to see that Java is not blocked and yet the area where the applet is on the confirm Java page is blank.
It works as expected under Internet Explorer after some prompting to run the applet. I get none of this in Firefox, and java is just silently broken with no apparent fix. Nothing I have read has helped. I have tried completely uninstalling both Java and Firefox, deleting the Java folder, deleting the Mozilla folder in AppData/Roaming, and reinstalling both. I've tried 64 bit Firefox and 64 bit Java as well with no better results. Is there a fix? Has Mozilla silently dropped support for Java in Firefox similar to Google and Chrome but still indicate it should work?

The screenshot shows that Java has been enabled and is being allowed and yet the applet is not running. The attached screenshot shows the addons page.

Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
