Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

FirefoxSafeMode

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode" Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information. Click the "Reset Firefox" button. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied. Further information can be found in the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Guys, The same fire fox is working fine in all web pages. The only problem is in YAHOO.com email editor.

The bidi text cursor with the notch at the right shows that you are in ltr mode.
If you press Ctrl+Shift+X then the cursor should move to rtl and the little notch should be at the left side.
Firefox doesn't use Ctrl+Shift to swap the bidi direction because such a modifier can be used in menus and by extensions and you could change the direction easily.
If Ctrl+Shift+X isn't working then this is something different.

Your screenshot images show Firefox in LTR mode.
If you would want to be in RTL mode (like I assumed) then the switch hasn't worked.
If it had worked the the cursor would be at the right end side and the notch on the cursor would point in the opposite (left) direction.

Does Ctrl+Shift+X work in other text areas and input fields (e.g. the location bar)?

Firefox should remember the bidi text direction for each field if I'm correct.

Yes. Other fields work correctly. I tested the search field and it is OK.

So you can't change the bidi text direction in the Yahoo mail editor?

If that is the case then is looks the there is some script running that is intercepting this key combination.
You can try to set the bidi.browser.ui pref to true to see if you can do this via the Edit or right-click context menu instead.

the bidi.browser.ui pref is true

Is switch text direction in the right-click context menu grayed?

I assume that the pref is true because you use an RTL locale or did you flip the pref yourself?
