Why does Mozilla have bad support? You've done zero to have Flash Player work, making calls through Google doesn't work, and I had to update 3 times this week

The question says it all. I will try to be somewhat diplomatic for the moment and ask why your company is failing, before I start losing my cool completely, because Mozilla has not solved any of my issues at all, period.

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

Note that current Flash is 27.0.0.130. You can download the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

> Why does Mozilla have bad support?

Support is done by volunteers. I guess you don't think we're very good.

> You've done zero to have Flash Player work,

What is happening with your Flash player? Do you get a specific error message? Consider:

(A) Update from Flash 25 to Flash 27. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

(B) Check for the plugin notification icon on pages where Flash is not activating. Why do I have to click to activate plugins?

(C) In case needed: Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

> making calls through Google doesn't work,

Do you mean on the Hangouts website? If a Google site is not compatible with Firefox, it might be intentional...

> and I had to update 3 times this week

Firefox 56.0 -- released today -- is the only update in recent weeks. What else were you were updating??
