Experimental Features

Replacing prefs.js with a fresh one solved the problem but all my preferences were gone. That is not something that I wish but I think I can handle to get them again.

In the fresh prefs.js I added my ui.textSelectForeground option. It seems now firefox does not reset my preferences everytime I close.

Nope, I am back. Again the change reverted back to #000000 all of a sudden.

Prefs shouldn't change to a previous value randomly.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Oh did not think about that. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is installed. Most probably it creates the problem. I will disable and watch the result.

Still not solved after disabling Anti-Malware.

Does this also happen if you close and immediately restart Firefox? Make sure to give Firefox enough time to close completely.

You can make a backup copy of the prefs.js file or use a user.js file to initialize this pref on every start.
