... it has seen revamps of interfaces being called 'logical' or 'making more sense' over and over before.

FF29:

Mozilla/Firefox clearly doesn't care (anymore) about it's long time users. Free choice doesn't mean having to add another bunch of add-ons to my browser to get it to look the way it was before FF 29. No one cares about years of research if it means development gets dominated by tech-crazed geeks.

Whats next ? FF based targeted advertising ?

We are sorry that you are unhappy with the new Firefox design. People helping here are volunteers and they are doing the best they can to help out Firefox users.

If you feel strongly about the new changes I would suggest you to provide feedback on https://input.mozilla.org/feedback for the people who decided on the changes to actually see it.

Please keep in mind that Firefox is a work in progress and your feedback is very valuable for us to understand what can be done better!

They say that this FF 30 is based in five years of research, most FF users seem to want this according to that research, and that we'll just have to get used to it.

The title of this thread speaks of 'mind muscle' as an reference to a statement made by Mozilla. Where they basically said that the users just have to re-train their mind muscle to behave as the new GUI dictates. To me that says it all.

What use is writing feedback when Mozilla has made it very clear that they won't listen. Why should I fill in an online form when I'll never get a reply from anyone relevant anyway ? And if they reply it would be just an other copy pasted standard text. Saying they can't stick to the 'old' ways just for my sake. not even when there are millions of others that want the same.

I f I wanted a browser that gives me none of the features I want or need then I would have stuck with Internet Explorer. From Firefox I expect to give me a secure browser that allows me to personalize and adjust it to suit my own needs.

Community driven open source ? A laugh is all you get from me. Mozilla has become a monolith completely driven by managers that won't accept they'll never beat the competition. In my opinion these managers might just as well be found working for your local hedge fund. That of course being their dream.

I tried FF 30 since April this year and I can definitely report to you that unless FF 31 gives me back my new-tab-homepage (all new-tab-homepage add-ons available stopped working in FF 30) I'll be uninstalling FF for good.

I will not be dictated.
