Why can't I access the advanced Hotmail search options?
With Firefox only simple search is available within Hotmail. The advanced search works ok with MS Internet Explorer

It is fairly likely that Microsoft is coding Hotmail to work best with their own (horrendous!) product... MS has a history of deliberately producing non-standards-compliant HTML to produce incomplete or problematic rendering by other browsers, and on a number of occasions has been found guilty by the European Court of First Instance of criminal anti-competitive practices.
With a free mail service - especially Hotmail! - you tend to get what you pay for... :(
